Guests were introduced to rising trends from the previous two months, including CBD oil, plant-based diets, insects as food and concern around food prices caused by Brexit - gathered from social listening platform Linkfluence.

A couple of themes covered:
Plant-based diets: Western culture needs to address its over-reliance on meat consumption - the planet cannot handle the environmental impact of increased meat farming. Our nutrition and health could be improved by including plant based meals.
Connecting with food: Societies have become disconnected with the food they eat - many consumers do not understand the farm-to-fork process and are uninterested in cooking. We need to reconnect consumers with food, from educating consumers on food ecosystems and bringing transparency to supply chains to teaching children cooking skills, so future generations are able to really engage with the range of new foods they'll inevitably encounter.
