Answering the call of fans

In Asia and the US fans of Pikachu and friends flock to Pokemon Centres across the two continents to connect and buy products that are rarely available elsewhere. Until late 2019 this wasn’t an option for Europeans fans.

To mark the launch of the brand’s eagerly awaited Sword and Shield game and the release of the franchise’s latest film we opened Europe’s first Pokemon Centre; two floors at London’s prestigious Westfield, White City dedicated to the world’s most successful game property.

For nearly 30 days people flocked to the store with queues snaking for up to a mile around the centre and out onto the streets. With fabulous media coverage and staggering sales this activity showed that bricks and mortar retail is very far from dead.
